It was like a bolt from the blue when little-known RB Burn under French jockey Gerald Avranche stunned a star-studded field to win the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s €1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Crown Jewel-IPIC (Group 1) - world’s richest race for Purebred Arabian horses -at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club race course on Sunday, November 13, 3016.

The General Assembly of International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) was held at the National Archives, Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 on the sidelines of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Racing Festival's 'One World Six Continents' programme. 

Representatives from as many as 39 counties took part in the meeting which was telecast live on YAS TV and the Festival’s Web TV.

Al Kitbi strikes for M7 Stables - RESULTS

The newly-formed M7 Endurance Stables based in Dubai got off to a winning start when Salem Hamad Saeed Malhoof Al Kitbi riding Burkaan edged out Mansour Saeed Mohammed Al Faresi on Tiswan Fageole to win the 120-km Al Wathba Challenge Endurance ride at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi.

Al Kitbi, riding the 12-year-old bay stallion finished hand-in-hand with MRM Stables’ Al Faresi on the 9-year-old bay gelding Tiswan Fageole with just a second being the difference between them after the 120-km ride.

Sunday’s Euros 1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Crown Jewel-IPIC (Group 1) race by the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival is not only the world’s richest race for Purebred Arabian horses but is also perhaps the most important two minutes of action for the Purebred Arabian racing fraternity.

To be run at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club in the UAE capital, the 1600-metre contest has lived up to its ‘world’s top race’ tag by attracting the best Purebred Arabians currently in racing led by hot favourite Al Mourtajez.

The UAE capital is all set to stage the second running of the world's richest race for Purebred Arabian horses - the Euros 1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Crown Jewel-IPIC (Group 1) on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club racecourse.

The HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s "One World, 6 Continents, Abu Dhabi The Capital" extravaganza got off to a smooth start with an open draw at the National Archives on Tuesday afternoon for the Euros 1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Crown Jewel-IPIC (Group 1) – the richest race in the world for Purebred Arabian horses which will be held on November 13, 2016.

Even as the connections of the 16 runners picked their starting stalls, the lady jockeys and the Apprentice jockeys also got to know which horses each one of them will be riding in the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship final and the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship final respectively.

The stage is set for a fantastic week of action both on and off the field as over 800 guests arrive for the "One World, 6 Continents, Abu Dhabi The Capital" extravaganza which marks the end of the 2016 year of activities of  the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the action kicks off with the Tuesday’s 12 noon Official Draw of the Euros 1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Crown Jewel-IPIC (Group 1) – the richest race in the world for Purebred Arabian horses which will be held on November 13, 2016 at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club as part of the grand finale.
