Speaker 1: Dr. Carl Mattacola, PhD, Researcher, University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences and the UK Sports Medicine Research Institute. - Working in partnership with SMRI and the Jockeys’ Guild (US), to establish and grow a registry that can be utilized to look at injuries among professional jockeys and to develop new protocols on detecting and reducing the long-term effects of head trauma from riding accidents across many disciplines in equitation.

9:30 am - Areas of Concentration:
» Video Race Replay Analysis. A workshop focusing on how young riders can better use video replays to analyze their rides. A panel of top veteran professional jockeys will review selected 2017 Festival race replays with apprentice and amateur jockeys and provide their insight on how to effectively analyze races after they have been run. 

» Better Techniques for Interacting with Media and Use of Social Media Platforms. Mastering the art of Public Relations and how young riders can better interact with the racing and other Media; with focus on utilizing social media more effectively.

» Fitness Coaching Clinic. With the use of RPSimulators and gym equipment, young riders will be taught easy to use training techniques to better their riding and overall fitness. IFHRA Member Racing School Coaches and top Professional Jockeys will be on hand to provide expert coaching on use of the whip, changing hands, proper positioning and other key techniques for young riders.
