

Nadja AJR wins the Special Race Arabian Ladies
in Cidade Jardim

With seven lenghts ahead, the mare wins and conquers the first
Brazilian female title for the Arabian breed
Nadja AJR (Second Chall x Nayara El Jamaal by Ali Jamaal), owned and bred by Almir Ribeiro, won the Prova Especial Arabian Ladies, wich, because of the rain that fell for several days, was transfered from 1000m on turf to 1100m on dirt. The grey mare won in a heavy track under the command of R. Maia on 1.20.989 and seven lenghts ahead of Claire Rach (Voltaire Rach x Camponeza Rach by Polonez), which was ridden by N.Cunha and owned and bred by Jamil Saliba.
"After this race we will have exclusive races of mares, which should further encourage the presence of Arab mares in Cidade Jardim Racetrack”, said Paulo Jamil Saliba, Racing director of the Arabian Horse Breeders Brazilian Association.
Besides the traditional public that use to attend the Arabian Horse flat racing since the first race on September 30, international breeders who came to the 32th Arabian Horse Brazilian National Exhibition also went to watch the race.Among them Elizabeth Kassis and Jaime Valdes Correa of Chile, Nathalie Weemaels (Ecuador), Patrick Mormal (Belgium) and the Americans Joseph Polo, Jack Millan and Greg Hazlewood.

Eduardo Vaz, sports announcer, rural auctioneer and Arabian horse lover, received the trophy on behalf of the breeder Almir José Ribeiro.

Adalja Rach (Sadeek Van Ryad x Adalja HVP by Lyphard) of Rach Stud and mounted by M. Aurélio crossed third, followed closely by Tanny Di Pscore (Pscore x Khatreena JM by Bey Shah), bred and owned by José Alves Filho and riding by A. Mesquita.
Tieta Rach (Gothos Rach x BF Tiffany Bey by Kuckleberry Bey), also from Rach Stud and mounted by lady jockey Jeane Alves dominated the race until the last corner while Nadja AJR advancing on the outside to take the lead and kept it until crossing the finishing line.

The Special Race Arabian Ladies was held at the Hippodrome of Cidade Jardim (São Paulo) on November 18th and as all the Arabian horse racing has the support of ABCCA (Arabian Horse Breeders Brazilian Association), ANCAF (Functional Arabian Horse National Association) and Jockey Club of São Paulo.
The last race of the year is scheduled for December 15.
